“I vow to work on your home as if it were my own.”
My name is Christopher Ian Hatzai and I moved to Bend, Oregon in 2013 from just outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I moved to Oregon as a pastry baker and budding rock climber. The sheer, blank walls of Smith Rock were calling my name back in Pennsylvania and the temptation was just too loud to ignore. After making my way out West, I had every intention of only staying in Oregon for one year. By year five I realized Bend was home.
Before baking I had worked in the general construction trades since after high school. After I left baking in 2018, I transitioned back into construction work and found the HVAC trade shorty after. I was instantly hooked. Being able to draw from my previous skillsets, the transition into mechanical installations felt very natural.
After working for three of the larger HVAC companies in town, I decided in 2024 to branch out on my own. I was fortunate to have learned how to retro-fit and newly construct HVAC systems while working for those companies. While falling in love with this trade over the years, I’m now finding another love in being a HVAC business owner/operator. It’s a good feeling knowing that every connection was done properly and everything was installed correctly.
‘I always thought it mind boggling that they send the kid with the least amount of experience, making the least amount of money in the company, down into the worst place of the home to do some of the most critical work, alone.’
What I’m enjoying the most about operating my company is the fact that I’m the person interacting with the clients firsthand all the way through the transaction. I like building real relationships with my clients during the actual sale of the transaction, and then being able to fully deliver on what I sold to them.
All of the years I thought I was wasting my life away baking is now serving me quite well. I have combined the customer service, cleanliness, and organized chaos skills that are a requirement in the baking industry with my mechanical abilities. The outcome is yielding very satisfied, informed, happy customers.
If there are any HVAC mechanical installation needs, from furnace and mini-splits, to range hoods and bath fans, all the way to vapor or envelope sealing in a crawl space or attic, I’m your guy. With the utmost pride and conviction, I vow to work on your home as if it were my own.
